On Thursday, Suresh Pujari, the Revenue and Disaster Management Minister of Odisha, undertook an aerial survey over areas impacted by flooding in the districts of Jajpur, Bhadrak, Baleshwar, and Kendujhar. The purpose was to evaluate the level of inundation and the status of ongoing relief efforts.

Joined by Additional Chief Secretary Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee and Special Relief Commissioner Rajesh Prabhakar Patil, the Minister reviewed submerged villages and river systems to gauge the effects of persistent rainfall.

Earlier that same day, Pujari led a review meeting at Lok Seva Bhawan, where he engaged with district collectors and senior officials to examine the preparedness and response strategies. He instructed local authorities to prioritize timely evacuations, the distribution of relief supplies, and the protection of infrastructure in at-risk areas.

The Minister highlighted the government’s commitment to ensuring continual coordination among various departments to effectively manage the changing flood conditions and provide prompt assistance to those affected.

According to officials, the aerial survey was instrumental in pinpointing critical areas that require urgent attention, such as breaches and waterlogged zones. Relief teams from the NDRF, ODRAF, and Fire Services are actively deployed across the impacted districts.
