On August 5, police in Agra uncovered a red suitcase on the Tamil Nadu Express, which had originated from Chennai Central. Upon inspection, they discovered the severed body parts of a woman, later identified as Hayath Nisha, who hails from Odisha.

The investigation took a pivotal turn when police analyzed CCTV footage from Chennai Central, revealing a man and a woman transporting the suitcase and placing it on the train. Additional footage tracked the couple as they exited the railway station and made their way to Park railway station, where they boarded a suburban train to Guduvanchery.

Upon arriving in Guduvanchery, investigators located the couple at a residence on Masjid Street. By showing their images to local residents, police were able to confirm their identities as an Odisha couple. Further inquiries revealed that Hayath Nisha had been residing with them.

Hayath Nisha had been living with the couple after separating from her husband. Her 19-year-old son is employed as an air conditioning mechanic in Tambaram.
