Angul (Odisha) [India], August 21 (ANI): A recent explosion at the NTPC plant in Kaniha injured five individuals, leading to immediate medical attention and oversight from district authorities, as stated by District Magistrate Abdaal Akhtar.
In remarks to the press, Akhtar discussed the condition of the injured, mentioning that those with more severe injuries have been transported to a hospital in Bhubaneswar.
He explained, “About five individuals sustained injuries in the incident. Three have minor injuries and are being treated at the NTPC Kaniha Hospital. The other two, however, have more serious injuries and are currently at SUM Ultimate Hospital in Bhubaneswar. Of these, one is stable and expected to be discharged soon, while the other remains in serious but stable condition and is receiving ongoing treatment at SUM Ultimate Hospital.”
As technical teams investigate the cause of the explosion, district administrators have begun coordinating efforts with the leadership of the power plant.
“The cause of the accident is still unknown; however, I have communicated with the NTPC CMD and local officials who have assured me of their cooperation,” the District Magistrate remarked.
