Bhubaneswar: The southwest monsoon has made swift progress and has completely covered the entire state as of today, according to the India Meteorological Department.
According to IMD data, the monsoon’s entry into the state commenced on June 12. In a remarkable span of just 11 days, the southwest monsoon winds have now reached all parts of the state, indicating a significantly quicker onset compared to previous years.
On Tuesday, cloudy skies enveloped most regions of Odisha as the southwest monsoon intensified its presence, raising the likelihood of rain. While some areas experienced moderate to light rainfall, many others remained overcast throughout the day.
The cloudy and rainy weather resulted in a noticeable decrease in temperatures across most locations. Western Odisha experienced the most significant relief from the heat, with temperatures dropping by 3 to 5 degrees Celsius in various areas.
In addition, the regional weather office has predicted a further decline of approximately 3 degrees Celsius over the next two days.
