In a tragic incident in Balangir, Odisha, a young man was killed when he was crushed under a bus. The accident occurred in front of the Maa Pataneshwari temple in Balangir town.

The victim, identified as Prashanta Mahakud from Demerbahal village in Balangir district, had come to the area for work. Reports indicate that as he was walking past the temple, he was struck by a passenger bus coming from the opposite direction, resulting in his death at the scene.

Upon receiving news of the accident, police from Balangir Town PS arrived, recovered the body, and arranged for a post-mortem examination. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.

In a separate incident, a bus collided with a truck at Darbandi Ghati in Mayurbhanj district last night, injuring seven passengers, two of whom are in critical condition. The bus, traveling from Badabil to Kolkata, lost control and hit the truck from behind. Bangiriposhi police responded to the situation, rescuing the injured and transporting them to a nearby hospital. The bus involved in this accident has been seized, and further inquiries are in progress.
