Skoda is readying for the release of the Slavia facelift on August 18. This updated midsize sedan will showcase cosmetic changes, additional features, and possibly a new automatic transmission option for the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine.

What to anticipate:

Earlier test vehicles have indicated modifications such as new LED headlamps, a redesigned tail-lamp configuration, and a grille that includes integrated lighting, reminiscent of those on the latest Kushaq and Kodiaq models. Redesigned front and rear bumpers, along with a new assortment of alloy wheels, are also expected.

Inside the vehicle, the dashboard design is likely to remain mostly unchanged. Nevertheless, Skoda may introduce a larger 10.25-inch digital driver display, upgraded seat materials, and front parking sensors. It will be interesting to see if the rear-seat massage feature, which made its debut in the Kushaq facelift in January 2026, will also be included in the Slavia.

Most of the existing features are expected to be retained, including the 10.25-inch touchscreen, a single-pane sunroof, wireless phone charging, an 8-speaker audio system, automatic climate control with rear vents, six airbags, and a tyre-pressure monitoring system.

Regarding the powertrain, the Slavia facelift is anticipated to keep both the 115hp 1.0-litre TSI and the 150hp 1.5-litre TSI turbo-petrol engines. However, the current 6-speed torque-converter transmission for the 1.0 TSI is likely to be replaced by the new 8-speed automatic transmission first introduced in the facelifted Kushaq. The 1.5 TSI is expected to maintain its existing 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Pricing expectations:

The current Slavia ranges from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 18.19 lakh, ex-showroom, and the revised model is likely to see a slight price increase. Following its launch, the updated Slavia will continue to rival the Volkswagen Virtus, Hyundai Verna, and Honda City.
