The Odisha Vigilance apprehended Rabindra Kumar Nayak, a Forest Ranger from the Kendrapada Forest Range, on Thursday due to allegations of possessing assets that are disproportionate to his declared income sources.

This arrest was made following coordinated searches at locations associated with Nayak, where officials discovered a range of assets inconsistent with his known income.

The findings included an impressive four-storey structure spanning 7,038 square feet, another building, six valuable plots of land, 283 grams of gold, cash amounting to Rs. 2.14 lakhs, bank deposits totaling Rs. 76 lakhs, and a four-wheeler.

A case has been filed against him at the Kataka Vigilance Police Station (Case No. 25/2026) under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2018. The investigation is still ongoing.
