The Odisha Vigilance Department apprehended Shishir Kumar Dash, who serves as the Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) for Mathili Block and is currently associated with the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) in Malkangiri, on Tuesday. His arrest was prompted by findings of assets that are disproportionate to his known income sources.
In a coordinated operation, officials conducted multiple searches at locations linked to Dash. These investigations revealed a significant amount of high-value properties that he could not adequately justify.
Disproportionate Assets Discovered
The assets identified during the search include:
- Real Estate: Two multi-storey buildings with a total area of 9,300 square feet.
- Land Holdings: Six high-value plots located in desirable areas.
- Financial Holdings: Bank accounts and investments totaling ₹82 lakh.
- Vehicles & Assets: One four-wheeler and various household valuables.
Due to his inability to provide a legitimate explanation for his wealth, the agency filed a case under Brahmapur Vigilance P.S. Case No. 11/2026, invoking relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act.
Dash has been officially arrested and is set to appear before the Special Judge, Vigilance, in Brahmapur today. Ongoing investigations are focusing on his financial dealings, any undisclosed assets, and bank accounts.
