Baleshwar: A tragic accident occurred early Wednesday morning on National Highway 16 in Baleshwar district, Odisha, resulting in the death of a truck driver. The incident involved a vegetable-laden truck that collided with another vehicle.

Sources indicate that the collision transpired on the Chadakamara overbridge, which falls under the Soro police station’s jurisdiction. The truck, en route from West Bengal to Bhadrak, reportedly struck the other vehicle from behind. The front end of the truck sustained severe damage due to the impact, while the other vehicle fled the scene after the crash.

Reports confirm that the truck driver died as a result of the incident, and efforts are underway to determine his identity. Upon receiving a report of the accident, Soro police arrived at the location, recovered the body, and sent it for a post-mortem examination.

The police have launched an investigation to uncover the details surrounding the crash and to identify the fleeing vehicle involved.
