Nabarangpur: A devastating road accident in the Nabarangpur district of Odisha on Sunday led to the deaths of three family members, with two others suffering serious injuries. The collision occurred near Deobharandi in the Raighar block.

The victims have been identified as Babulal Ganda along with his sons, Pradeep Ganda and Tushar Ganda.

Reports indicate that a truck traveling from Raighar towards Kundei on State Highway 40 collided with the motorcycle carrying the family.

There were five individuals on the motorcycle—comprising a father, mother, and their three sons. Tragically, the father and two sons lost their lives at the scene. The mother and one son were critically injured and initially taken to the Hatabharandi Community Health Centre before being transferred to the Umarkote Sub-Divisional Hospital for further treatment.

The impact of the accident was so severe that the motorcycle was dragged a considerable distance beneath the truck.

In the aftermath of the incident, the truck driver turned himself in to the authorities.

Local residents responded by blocking the road at the accident site, demanding compensation for the victims’ family.

The police have opened an investigation into the incident and registered a case.
