An autorickshaw transporting schoolchildren overturned near Nandahandi Square in the Nabarangpur district, resulting in injuries to seven students.

The vehicle, which was reportedly taking students from Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya, Saruguda, lost its balance and tipped over around 4 PM while en route to Nabarangpur. Among the injured, one student is reported to be in critical condition.

According to local reports, the driver abandoned the scene right after the incident. The injured students were promptly taken to the Saruguda Community Health Centre for initial treatment, and subsequently, the child in critical condition was transferred to the Nabarangpur District Headquarters Hospital.

In response to the accident, ASI Tulasi Ram Pujari from the Dangarveja Police Outpost arrived at the scene, confiscated the autorickshaw, and filed a case (No. 313/26). An investigation into the incident has been initiated by the police.
