President Droupadi Murmu is set to begin her three-day tour of Odisha on Monday, during which she will engage in activities across the Kataka, Khordha, and Ganjam districts.

Arriving at the Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar from New Delhi via a special Indian Air Force flight, the President’s first stop will be Baunara near Dampada, where she will inaugurate the Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Maharaj University.

In anticipation of her visit, security measures have been significantly heightened, with approximately 40 police platoons deployed in Bhubaneswar and an additional 17 platoons in Cuttack.

On Tuesday, President Murmu’s special train journey to Berhampur is a highlight of her trip.

Given the monsoon season and potential weather interruptions, special precautions have been implemented for her rail travel.

Following her arrival in Berhampur, she will proceed by road to the Maa Kandhuni Devi shrine in Taptapani and will stay overnight at the Army Air Defence College in Golabandha.

In Ganjam, around 45 police platoons have been stationed, while Berhampur Railway Station is on heightened alert.

A comprehensive security plan has been established for her train journey, involving coordination among the President’s Secretariat, the Special Protection Group (SPG), Odisha Police, Railway Protection Force (RPF), Government Railway Police (GRP), and East Coast Railway.

The railway corridor from Bhubaneswar to Berhampur will be under strict surveillance, featuring continuous track monitoring, anti-sabotage inspections, and security checks at stations, with access restricted to authorized personnel only.

Additionally, preparations for emergencies, including ambulance services with medical staff on standby, training for train operators, and contingency plans for weather-related issues, have been finalized, adhering to the VVIP security protocols outlined in the Blue Book.
