Bhubaneswar: The government of Odisha is intensifying security measures and enhancing inter-departmental collaboration in anticipation of the upcoming visits by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu this month.
As per administrative insiders, Prime Minister Modi is expected to arrive in Odisha on October 25, while President Murmu will commence her two-day visit from October 28 to October 29.
These official visits are not merely ceremonial; they are primarily focused on the launch of public infrastructure projects and socio-economic initiatives. The state is preparing locations for ceremonies to lay foundation stones, dedicate completed projects, and host large public gatherings aimed at highlighting regional development objectives.
To finalize the operational plan, Odisha’s Chief Secretary convened a strategic meeting with departmental heads, senior officials, and law enforcement leaders at Lok Seva Bhawan in the capital.
Discussions at this meeting revolved around creating a comprehensive, multi-layered security strategy that will incorporate coordinated efforts from state police and central security agencies at various sites, including helipads and transit routes.
Another key aspect of the agenda involved planning transit and movement protocols. Officials developed detailed traffic management strategies and green-corridor arrangements for both Bhubaneswar and the districts included in the schedule. Additionally, the administration assessed the necessary infrastructure at sites expected to host public gatherings, foundation-laying events, and formal inaugurations.
Officials noted that detailed itineraries, venues for public speeches, and the specific timing of project inaugurations will be confirmed in the coming days, contingent on the completion of required security checks and protocol approvals.
