Bhubaneswar: On Friday, the Odisha Vigilance conducted searches on properties associated with Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) Satyanarayan Sethy from Kotpad block in Koraput district, recovering a 2-BHK flat, two farmhouses covering over 14 acres, 32 valuable plots, 300 grams of gold jewelry, and Rs 5.48 lakh in cash.
The assets, registered under Sethy and his family members, are under investigation for being allegedly disproportionate to his known income sources. The Vigilance Technical Wing is currently measuring and valuing the immovable properties, while details regarding bank deposits, postal savings, and other financial investments are also being examined.
Simultaneous searches are taking place in Koraput, Khurda, and Kendrapada districts, based on allegations that the AEE has amassed assets beyond his declared income. The operation involves 7 DSPs, 9 inspectors, 11 ASIs, and additional support staff, all acting under search warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Jeypore.
Assets Discovered Include:
- A 2-BHK flat (approximately 1,000 sq ft) located on the ground floor of Block-B/6, Plot No. 132, in Hi-tech Plaza, Madhipur Mauza, Jatani, Khurda district.
- A 10.03-acre farmhouse featuring mango and eucalyptus plantations at Mouza-Taragaon, Boriguma Tehasil, Koraput district.
- Another 4.35-acre farmhouse with Nilgiri plantation at the same Mouza-Taragaon location.
- 32 valuable plots situated in Jeypore, Koraput, Boriguma, Kotpad, and Patangi tahasils within Koraput district.
- Cash totaling Rs 5,48,000.
- Gold jewelry weighing 300 grams.
The raids commenced early this morning and are being executed by teams comprising 7 DSPs, 9 Inspectors, 11 ASIs, and supporting staff, based on search warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Jeypore. The properties being searched include Sethy’s rented residence at Parabeda in Jeypore, the flat at Hi-tech Plaza in Jatni, his parental home in Jahangar, Kendrapada district, government quarters at Kotpad, his office chamber at Kotpad, and the two farmhouses at Taragaon.
