The Directorate of Higher Secondary Education in Odisha has released the merit list for the first phase of +2 e-admissions for the 2026-27 academic year.
Out of a total of 4,61,325 applicants, 4,29,219 students gained admission, resulting in a selection rate of 93.04%.
In the Science stream, Buxi Jagabandhu Bidyadhar Higher Secondary School in Bhubaneswar achieved the highest cut-off at 93.40%, followed by BJB Junior College at 90%. In the Arts category, BJB HSS also led with an 81% cut-off, while Rourkela Government Higher Secondary School came in second with 80.67%. For Commerce, BJB HSS again took the lead with a cut-off of 82.40%, and Rourkela Government HSS followed at 81.20%.
Looking at the selection figures by stream, there were 2,76,925 admissions in Arts, 19,844 in Commerce, and 1,21,494 in Science. Additionally, 6,134 students were selected in the Upashastri stream, and 4,822 in Vocational streams.
When broken down by gender, 2,00,493 male students and 2,28,675 female students were selected. A total of 2,97,454 students were admitted to their first-choice institutions.
The Directorate has announced that +2 (Class XI) classes will commence on 23 July 2026 at all higher secondary schools across Odisha. Students who were not selected in this phase will have another chance during the second and spot selection phases.
