Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today announced an increase in the Daily Allowance for Home Guards from Rs 639 to Rs 650. This adjustment will take effect from January 1, 2026.
It is important to note that the Daily Allowance for Home Guards was previously raised from Rs 623 to Rs 639 on July 1, 2025.
Additionally, a 2 percent increase in the dearness allowance for regular state government employees will also be implemented starting January 1, 2026. In light of these changes, the Chief Minister has made this decision to support the Home Guards.
While this decision may impose an additional burden on the state’s finances, it is expected to provide crucial financial assistance to thousands of Home Guards across Odisha.
