Bhubaneswar: In the past day, western Odisha has faced significant rainfall, with Jharsuguda district leading the state in precipitation.

Data from the regional meteorological center indicates that Jharsuguda recorded 114.3 mm of rain, followed closely by Chikiti in Ganjam district, which received 111.4 mm, and Betanati in Mayurbhanj, with 93.0 mm.

Other notable rainfall figures include Bamra in Sambalpur at 91.0 mm, Jhumpura in Keonjhar with 85.4 mm, and Koshagumuda in Nabarangapur at 83.6 mm.

In total, 10 weather stations across the state reported heavy rainfall. The average rainfall for Odisha during this period was 12.0 mm, slightly below the normal of 14.4 mm, marking a shortfall of 16%.

On the temperature front, Paralakhemundi recorded the highest temperature at 36.2°C, while Boudh noted the lowest at 19.5°C. In the major cities, Bhubaneswar experienced 38.1 mm of rainfall, with temperatures reaching a maximum of 34.6°C and a minimum of 25.0°C. Cuttack reported 14.2 mm of rain, with maximum temperatures at 35.2°C and minimums at 23.4°C.
