Bhubaneswar: Rising temperatures are being observed across Odisha, and the Regional Meteorological Centre forecasts no major weather shifts in the week ahead. Recent data shows that on Friday, eight cities reported temperatures exceeding 35 degrees Celsius. Puri reached the peak at 36.2 degrees Celsius, followed closely by Nayagada at 36 degrees Celsius, and Bhubaneswar at 35.6 degrees Celsius. Additionally, Baleshwar and Chandbali recorded 35.2 degrees Celsius, while Jharsuguda noted 35.1 degrees Celsius. Baripada and Paralakhemundi both registered temperatures of 35 degrees Celsius. The weather office has indicated a lack of conducive weather systems for rainfall, suggesting minimal chances of precipitation.
In another development, a cyclonic circulation is expected to emerge over the north Andaman Sea around October 12. This may lead to the formation of a low-pressure area by October 13, which could evolve into a depression over the southern Bay of Bengal or the adjacent central Bay of Bengal by around October 15. Consequently, rainfall is anticipated in conjunction with Dussehra festivities. However, it remains uncertain whether this weather system will escalate further. Global weather models suggest that the potential depression may track towards the southern coasts of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh.
