Puri: A heartbreaking incident occurred when an elderly man was killed after a wall of his home collapsed during relentless heavy rainfall in the village of Arisal, situated within the Delanga police jurisdiction in Odisha’s Puri district.

The victim has been identified as Ramachandra Behera, a resident of the village.

Reports indicate that Behera was indoors when the wall, weakened by the ongoing downpour, unexpectedly fell on him. Family members, with assistance from local residents, managed to extract him from the debris and rushed him to the Delanga Community Health Centre in a critical state. Emergency medical treatment was administered, but despite the efforts of healthcare providers, Behera sadly passed away from his injuries.

This unfortunate news has brought sorrow not only to Behera’s family but to the entire village as well.
