A recent study, titled Unconditional Women Cash Transfer Programmes in India: Evidence from Maharashtra and Odisha, examines two state government initiatives by analyzing account-level monthly panel data. The first program is the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana from Maharashtra, which offers eligible women monthly financial support of Rs 1,500. The second initiative is Odisha’s Subhadra Yojana, where beneficiaries receive an annual sum of Rs 10,000 distributed in two instalments.
