Kendujhar: A tragic incident unfolded in a village in Odisha’s Kendujhar district, where a 30-year-old man was reportedly beaten to death by his brother-in-law during a family dispute.

The event occurred at Uliburu Burusahi, falling under the Barbil police station’s jurisdiction. The victim has been named as Banamali Munda.

Reports indicate that Banamali had been physically assaulting his wife, Shukamati, on multiple occasions. Recently, he allegedly attacked her with an axe, prompting Shukamati to alert her family.

On Friday evening, Shukamati’s brother, Ajay Tiria, along with their mother, Saraswati Tiria, came to visit her. An argument ensued between Ajay and Banamali, leading to a violent confrontation. In a moment of anger, Ajay is said to have attacked Banamali, who died at the scene. Following the incident, Ajay fled the location.

Upon receiving the report, a police team arrived to investigate and subsequently took the body for postmortem analysis. Authorities are currently working to locate and apprehend Ajay Tiria.
