Bhadrak: A chicken shop owner lost his life, and his son suffered critical injuries following an attack by a group reportedly motivated by longstanding enmity in a village in Odisha’s Bhadrak district.

The assault occurred on Tuesday night amid the Ganesh idol immersion at Jena Sahi, falling under the jurisdiction of the Bhadrak rural police station.

Reports indicate that Laxmidhar Jena, the shop owner, along with his son Parshuram Jena, was targeted with glass bottles and sharp objects. While Laxmidhar did not survive his injuries, Parshuram was severely hurt and was subsequently transported to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for further medical care.

It has been reported that Laxmidhar previously had conflicts with certain local individuals.

Upon receiving notice of the incident, law enforcement dispatched a team to the scene and initiated an investigation. Authorities have apprehended four individuals in connection with the case, with more information expected to follow.
