Bhubaneswar: Odisha FC has officially signed Indian winger Nihal Sudeesh to a two-year contract, ensuring the 25-year-old will stay with the team until 2028 as they prepare for the 2026-27 Indian Super League season.

Hailing from Kochi, Kerala, Sudeesh began his football journey with FA Cochin before advancing through the youth ranks of Kerala Blasters FC. His standout performances in the Reliance Foundation Development League led to his promotion to the Kerala Blasters’ first team for the 2022-23 ISL season, where he made his debut against Odisha FC in October 2022.

He netted his first senior goal for Kerala Blasters during a 3-1 win over Hyderabad FC in April 2024. Following this achievement, he was loaned to Punjab FC for a season in July 2024, where he quickly made his mark by scoring against Odisha FC in a 2-1 victory, earning him the Player of the Match accolade. In the 2024-25 ISL season, Sudeesh made 20 appearances, contributing one goal and two assists for Punjab.

Upon returning to Kerala Blasters for the 2025-26 season, Sudeesh played in 10 league matches, scoring once and assisting in the Super Cup. His speed and versatility make him well-suited for the wide-forward role prevalent in the ISL.

“I’m very happy to join Odisha FC, and I’m looking forward to this new chapter in my career,” Sudeesh expressed. “I’ve heard a lot about the club, the team and the fans, and I’m excited to get started. I’ll give my best every day and hopefully contribute to the team’s success.”

This acquisition is anticipated to enhance Odisha FC’s attacking options on the wings as they head into the new season, which is set to commence on October 10.
