Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a cautionary notice for fishermen operating along the Odisha coast due to anticipated squally weather and turbulent sea conditions.

According to the forecast, from August 22 to August 24, windy conditions with speeds between 35-45 kmph, which may gust up to 55 kmph, are expected along the Odisha coast. Additionally, the sea is predicted to be rough to very rough during this period. Therefore, fishermen are strongly advised against venturing into the sea from August 22 through August 24, 2026.

The IMD also recommends that those fishermen who are currently at sea should return to shore as soon as possible, and urges the public to stay informed with ongoing updates.
