Bhubaneswar: On Friday, the Odisha government approved a total of 14 industrial projects that will require an investment of ₹2,780.10 crore, with the potential to create 14,104 jobs within the state.
This decision was made during the 149th meeting of the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA), which was led by Chief Secretary Anu Garg in Bhubaneswar.
As outlined in an official announcement, the approved initiatives span multiple sectors, including Food Processing, Agro & Food Processing, Textiles & Apparel, Chemicals & Chemical Products, Medical Devices, Pharma, Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM), Steel, Iron & Ferro Alloys, Steel Downstream Manufacturing, and Infrastructure.
The projects are set to be implemented in various districts, such as Anugola, Balangir, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Ganjam, Kendujhar, Khordha, Nayagad, Nuapada, and Sundargarh, thereby promoting industrial development throughout the region.
In the Food Processing sector, Haldiram Snacks Food Private Limited is planning to build a manufacturing unit for snacks and baked goods in Khordha and Cuttack with an investment of ₹500 crore, which is expected to create 800 jobs.
Within the Agro & Food Processing sector, Tiwana Nutrition Global Private Limited intends to set up a cattle feed production facility with an investment of ₹140 crore, providing 2,500 job opportunities. Additionally, Premium Chick Feeds Private Limited will create a chick feed manufacturing unit across Khordha, Cuttack, and Nayagad with an investment of ₹105.38 crore, which is projected to yield 1,054 jobs.
The Textiles & Apparel sector has also seen significant investment approvals, with several projects anticipated to generate a large number of jobs.
Sahana Clothing Company Private Limited is set to establish a manufacturing unit for knitted garments for infants and children in Dhenkanal, involving an investment of ₹251.45 crore and expected to generate 5,104 jobs.
Pratima Agro Spinning Mill Private Limited plans to create a textile processing unit for cotton yarn and other by-products in Balangir, with an investment of ₹125 crore and an expected 400 jobs.
Three investment proposals have been submitted in the Chemicals & Chemical Products sector. Prasol Chemicals Limited will set up a manufacturing plant for phosphorous-based derivatives in Ganjam, investing ₹450 crore and creating 458 jobs.
New Generation Manufacturing Private Limited is also planning to establish a coal tar distillation and by-products facility in Sundargarh, requiring an investment of ₹80 crore and expected to generate 301 jobs.
Haasvan Rasayan Private Limited will develop a manufacturing unit for bulk drug intermediates in Nuapada with an investment of ₹55 crore, creating 70 jobs.
Additionally, the latest approvals include investments in medical devices and electronics manufacturing.
Sastasundar Healthbuddy Limited is set to establish a medical device production facility in Khordha with an investment of ₹56 crore, anticipated to generate 1,050 jobs.
In the ESDM sector, Syrma SGS Technology Limited plans to set up a manufacturing plant for printed circuit board assemblies and box builds in Khordha, investing ₹300 crore and creating 500 job opportunities.
Investments have also been approved in the steel, iron, and ferro alloys sector, along with steel downstream manufacturing, focusing on processing and value addition.
Mahatripurasundari Minerals & Metals Private Limited will create an integrated complex for ferro alloys and chrome derivatives in Keonjhar, involving an investment of ₹160 crore and generating 1,460 jobs.
In the Steel Downstream sector, Shree Jagannath Ispat Private Limited will set up a manufacturing facility for various GI sheets and components in Cuttack, with an investment of ₹90.94 crore, expected to create 230 jobs.
NKS Earthbuild Limited will also establish a structural steel manufacturing facility in Dhenkanal, with an investment of ₹60.98 crore generating 148 jobs.
In the infrastructure domain, Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) will develop a private railway siding for Subhadra Coal Mines in Angul district, connecting with the existing Angul-Balaram Siding and the proposed Gopalprasad Station under the Khurda Road Division of East Coast Railway. This project will require an investment of ₹405.35 crore and has the potential to create 29 jobs.
