Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has released a nowcast warning for five western Odisha districts, predicting light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning within the next three hours.

As per the advisory issued at 10:40 AM, thunderstorms and lightning are expected to affect one or two areas in Balangir, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, and Sundargarh districts.

The weather agency has recommended that residents in these regions monitor the weather closely and take appropriate safety measures.

IMD has also urged people to seek shelter indoors during instances of lightning and thunderstorms, avoiding open spaces for their safety.
