A tragic accident in Odisha’s Nabarangpur district resulted in the deaths of a man and his two young sons after their motorcycle was reportedly struck by a truck, while the man’s wife and another son suffered critical injuries.

On Sunday, police reported that Babulal Gond, 35, along with his three sons, was riding on a state highway connecting Raighar and Kundei when the truck, traveling in the opposite direction, collided with their bike near Deobharandi village, under the jurisdiction of Kundai police station.

Authorities stated that the truck hit the motorcycle and dragged it for a considerable distance. The victims included Babulal Gond and his sons Pradip, aged 7, and Tushar, aged 3. His wife and another son, approximately 10 years old, were also injured in the incident.

The injured individuals were initially taken to Hatabharandi Community Health Centre before being transferred to Umarkot sub-divisional hospital for further treatment. An investigation into the incident has been initiated by the police.

In the aftermath of the tragedy, local residents expressed their outrage by staging a road blockade, demanding compensation for the bereaved family. The blockade was eventually lifted after intervention from local law enforcement officials.
