Odisha Vigilance has apprehended Padmalochan Nayak, the Executive Engineer of CADA in the Sambalpur Division, on charges of holding disproportionate assets.
Officials have confirmed that Nayak will be presented before the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, in Sambalpur today.
Investigations into his properties uncovered assets significantly exceeding his declared income. The Vigilance teams confiscated three buildings, including an 18,840 square foot multi-storeyed structure in Cuttack, 18 valuable plots, cash amounting to Rs 3.45 lakh, three four-wheelers, two JCBs, one tractor, and one trailer. Nayak was unable to provide satisfactory explanations for these assets.
Authorities have filed a case under Sambalpur Vigilance PS Case No. 07/2026 in accordance with the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2018. Officials indicated that this arrest is a crucial advancement in Odisha Vigilance’s ongoing initiative to combat disproportionate assets among government officials.
