In a tragic turn of events, an Odisha woman allegedly died by suicide following the death of her husband due to injuries sustained in a road accident, highlighting the devastating impact of sudden loss.

Padmini Bag reportedly took her own life after her husband, Sevak Bag, died from injuries incurred when an unidentified vehicle struck his auto-rickshaw on National Highway-57. Overwhelmed by grief, Padmini allegedly jumped from the Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital building. The couple, residents of Dumerbahal village, leaves behind two young children aged six and three years.

Police reported that Sevak Bag was critically injured in the accident on Thursday night and was admitted to the hospital, where he passed away on Friday morning. Following her husband’s death, Padmini allegedly lost her mental balance and jumped from the hospital building when no one was present. She was rushed for treatment but ultimately succumbed to her injuries. Authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident.
