Severe Heatwave Warning: Odisha Temperatures Expected to Exceed 45°C

The regional Meteorological Department has issued a warning regarding a severe heatwave affecting multiple districts in Odisha, with temperatures expected to rise by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius, potentially reaching 45 degrees Celsius soon.

According to the weather forecast, intense heatwave conditions are expected to persist in the state until April 22. The heatwave has already caused temperatures in various locations to surpass 43 degrees Celsius, with Titlagarh experiencing the highest temperature at 43.7 degrees Celsius. Additionally, temperatures have exceeded 40 degrees Celsius in ten areas across the state.

The Meteorological Centre predicts that temperatures in coastal regions, including Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Bhadrak, Balasore, and Puri, will range from 36 to 40 degrees Celsius. In contrast, the interior and southern districts of Odisha, such as Titlagarh, Jharsuguda, Bolangir, Sambalpur, and Angul, are expected to experience intense heatwave conditions, with temperatures soaring between 40 and 45 degrees Celsius.

A heatwave alert has also been issued for these interior and southern districts for April 18 and 19, while coastal areas will face hot and humid weather.
