A young man allegedly tried to take his own life on Monday morning by climbing to the roof of the Mangalabag police station in Cuttack, Odisha.

Reports indicate that the individual first cut his wrist before ascending to the rooftop, where he attempted to hang himself using a piece of cloth attached to a cable wire. Fire Services personnel intervened and rescued him, subsequently transporting him to SCB Medical College and Hospital (SCBMCH), where he is reported to be in critical condition.

The police have initiated an investigation, but the identity of the young man and the reasons behind his actions remain unclear.
