Rayagada: A young man has been reported missing after he slipped and fell while trying to take a selfie at a waterfall in the Rayagada district of Odisha.

According to initial reports, the incident occurred at Tayangiri waterfall in the Kashipur block on Thursday evening. The individual missing has been identified as Joka Bisoi, a resident of Jereka village in the Godibali panchayat.

Sources indicate that Bisoi had been out with four or five friends. While attempting to pose for a selfie at the waterfall, he is said to have lost his footing and fell into the water. His friends conducted a thorough search but were unable to find him.

Upon receiving the report, teams from the Kashipur police station along with fire service personnel initiated a search operation. However, due to the remoteness of the area and the onset of darkness, further search efforts were hampered. Search and rescue operations are ongoing, and additional details are awaited.
