Star Air is set to bolster air travel in Odisha by introducing 24 weekly flights beginning September 4, 2026. This initiative will establish a direct route between Hyderabad and Bhubaneswar, while also reinstating the air service between Bhubaneswar and Jharsuguda.

The new flights will be available six days a week, with the exception of Wednesdays, operating on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. This schedule aims to provide passengers with increased flexibility for journeys between Telangana and Odisha, as well as within the state.

The service is anticipated to cater to a diverse group of travelers, including business professionals, students, families, and tourists. Passengers arriving in Bhubaneswar will have convenient access to key locations such as Puri, the Jagannath Temple, and the Sun Temple in Konark.

Additionally, Star Air will revive its Bhubaneswar-Jharsuguda route, reestablishing a direct air link between the capital city and the western part of Odisha.

This connection will link Bhubaneswar to Jharsuguda and the larger Sambalpur area, which is significant for both industrial activities and tourism. Enhanced connectivity will simplify access to attractions like the Samaleswari Temple, Huma, and Hirakud Dam.

Jharsuguda Airport serves as a crucial aviation hub for Sambalpur and its surrounding districts. The added flights are expected to promote business travel, tourism, and trade, thereby boosting economic growth in western Odisha.
