The regional office of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has announced rain alerts for Odisha, indicating that weather disturbances are expected to last until July 17.

According to the IMD’s predictions, thunderstorms with lightning and strong surface winds, potentially reaching speeds of 30 to 40 km/h, are likely to occur in isolated areas across various districts.

Day 1 (Valid until 8:30 AM on July 11):

• YELLOW WARNING: Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds are expected in one or two locations in Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Sundargarh, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Nuapada, Nawrangpur, Rayagada, and Koraput.
• Light to moderate rainfall or thunderstorms are likely at several locations throughout Odisha.

Day 2 (Valid from 8:30 AM on July 11 to 8:30 AM on July 12):

• YELLOW WARNING: Thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds are expected in Sundargarh, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj.
• Light to moderate rain or thunderstorms are anticipated at various places across all districts in the state.

Day 3 (Valid from 8:30 AM on July 12 to 8:30 AM on July 13):

• YELLOW WARNING: Similar conditions with thunderstorms are forecasted in Sundargarh, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj.
• Light to moderate rain or thunderstorms are expected in many areas of Odisha.

Day 4 (Valid from 8:30 AM on July 13 to 8:30 AM on July 14):

• YELLOW WARNING: Thunderstorms likely in Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.
• Heavy rainfall is forecasted in isolated areas of Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.
• Light to moderate rain or thunderstorms are predicted at numerous locations across Odisha.

Day 5 (Valid from 8:30 AM on July 14 to 8:30 AM on July 15):

• YELLOW WARNING: Thunderstorms expected in Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, and Koraput.
• Heavy rainfall is likely in isolated spots in Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.
• Light to moderate rain or thunderstorms are predicted at many locations across the state.

Day 6 (Valid from 8:30 AM on July 15 to 8:30 AM on July 16):

• YELLOW WARNING: Heavy rainfall is expected in isolated areas of Balasore, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj.
• Light to moderate rain or thunderstorms are likely in numerous locations across Odisha.

Day 7 (Valid from 8:30 AM on July 16 to 8:30 AM on July 17):

• YELLOW WARNING: Heavy rainfall is anticipated in one or two places in Bargarh, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj.
• Light to moderate rain or thunderstorms are expected at many locations throughout the state.
