On Tuesday, President Droupadi Murmu sent her heartfelt greetings to citizens across the country, especially to the people of Odisha, in celebration of Nuakhai, an agriculture-centric festival in western Odisha.

The festival signifies the offering of the first harvest of the new crop to the deities and is of great cultural importance in western Odisha and nearby areas. Communities are celebrating Nuakhai with enthusiasm, fostering connections among families and neighborhoods.

In her message, President Murmu remarked that Nuakhai transcends a mere traditional celebration, serving as a representation of social and familial ties, highlighted through communal meals and gatherings of loved ones.

“I believe that through this festival, mutual harmony and unity will be further strengthened,”

she said, emphasizing the celebration’s cultural relevance.

As she concluded her message, the President wished for happiness, peace, and prosperity for all on this auspicious occasion, reiterating the festival’s role in enhancing harmony and collective joy among people.
