Prime Minister Narendra Modi distributed more than 51,000 appointment letters to newly recruited candidates during the 19th edition of the Rozgar Mela, highlighting the global excitement surrounding India’s youth and technological growth. Speaking via video conferencing, PM Modi noted that the new recruits would play vital roles across various sectors, including railways, banking, defense, health, and education.

The Rozgar Mela initiative is a key recruitment drive by the government aimed at boosting employment and accelerating hiring. To date, approximately 1.2 million appointment letters have been issued through 18 editions of the Rozgar Mela.

“Today, more than 51,000 youth have received appointment letters for government jobs. Today, all of you are becoming important partners, responsible partners, in the country’s development journey,” PM Modi stated.

He also linked global diplomacy to opportunities for Indian youth, referencing his recent trip to five countries. “I just returned from a trip to five countries two days ago. It was only a five-nation trip, but during this time, I spoke, had detailed discussions, and met with leaders of major companies from dozens of countries,” he said. “I felt one thing in common everywhere: The world is very excited about India’s youth and India’s technological progress. Today, the world wants to be a part of India’s development journey,” he added.

PM Modi mentioned that discussions during his trip covered sectors such as semiconductors, artificial intelligence, green technology, defense, critical minerals, science and technology, agriculture, and advanced manufacturing. He noted that agreements with countries like the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, the UAE, and Italy would directly benefit India’s youth in the coming years.

Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh remarked that several state governments are replicating the Rozgar Mela model, stating, “Inspired by your experiment with ‘Rozgar Mela’, many state governments have also started organizing similar job fairs for state-level recruitment.” He claimed that around 550,000 to 600,000 jobs had been generated through similar initiatives in states such as Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bihar, Assam, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Odisha, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, and Tripura.

The 19th Rozgar Mela took place across 47 locations nationwide, targeting candidates aged between 18 and 35 years from diverse educational backgrounds, including Class 8 pass candidates, graduates, diploma holders, and ITI-certified youth.
