Bhubaneswar: On Monday, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi conveyed his Nuakhai wishes to the residents of Odisha, highlighting the agrarian festival as a representation of the state’s culture, traditions, soil, and social cohesion.
In a video shared on the social media platform X, Majhi expressed, “My Nuakhai Juhar to all,” encouraging individuals to put aside any differences, resentment, and pride during this auspicious time. He urged everyone to maintain the tradition of offering “Juhar-Mundia” to their elders and mentors while bestowing affection and blessings upon the younger generation.
Majhi remarked, “Nuakhai is not merely a festival; it embodies the very essence of our culture, traditions, and social unity,” emphasizing that these customs help to reinforce familial, social, and fraternal relationships.
He also called on students, youth, laborers, farmers, and soldiers to commit to their roles in achieving a ‘Samruddha Odisha’ by 2036 and a ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047.
The Chief Minister concluded his message with prayers for Maa Samalei to bestow happiness, peace, prosperity, and success upon everyone, finishing with the words “Nuakhai Juhar to all” and “Jai Maa Samalei.”
