A student from Nayagarh, Odisha, found himself in a precarious situation after becoming stranded on a hill within a forest as night fell. Thankfully, he was rescued by the Fire Services following a demanding two-hour operation.

The student, identified as Aditya, is a second-year Plus Three Commerce student. Reports indicate that he had ventured to Rukhi Hill for a visit on Sunday. However, as darkness enveloped the area, he lost his way and became trapped.

In a bid to seek help, Aditya contacted his brother to inform him of the predicament. Subsequently, his father notified the Nayagarh Town Police, prompting the initiation of a rescue mission.

The nighttime rescue posed significant challenges for the firefighters due to the hill’s dense forest surroundings and the presence of wild animals. While ascending the hill, the rescue team faced encounters with several large snakes.

Utilizing the light from Aditya’s cellphone and his location details, the rescue team was able to locate him. They reached him around 11 pm.

After safely escorting Aditya down, the team arrived at the base of the hill by midnight, concluding their operation nearly two hours after it started.

The successful rescue highlighted the bravery and dedication of the Fire Services personnel. Both Aditya’s family and local residents expressed their heartfelt appreciation for the firefighters’ prompt and courageous actions.

Aditya mentioned that he had previously climbed the hill twice with friends but chose to explore it alone this time, which ultimately led to his challenging situation after nightfall.
