A man was critically injured after being attacked by a wild elephant in Angul district of Odisha. The incident occurred in Kangula village under the jurisdiction of Bantala police station on Tuesday morning.

The injured individual has been identified as Mochiya Nayak. Reports indicate that forest officials had arrived in the area after being informed about the presence of elephants near the village early that morning. During this time, Mochiya Nayak had reportedly stepped outside to relieve himself when the elephant unexpectedly attacked him.

Following the incident, he was initially admitted to the Angul District Headquarters Hospital for treatment. However, due to a deterioration in his condition, he was later transferred to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for more advanced medical care.
