Veteran Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) figure and former Deputy Prime Minister Lal Krishna Advani has been hospitalized at Apollo Hospitals in New Delhi due to a chest infection, as announced by the hospital on Saturday.

Currently, Advani is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and is being monitored by Dr. Vinit Suri, a Senior Consultant in Neurology.

According to the hospital’s statement, his condition is stable, and he is under continuous medical supervision.

One of the key figures in the BJP’s history, Advani has played a crucial role in shaping Indian politics over the years.

His hospitalization has sparked an outpouring of concern and wishes for a swift recovery from leaders across the political spectrum.

Earlier today, Union Health Minister JP Nadda visited Advani at Apollo Hospital to check on his health.

Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha, Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, also expressed his worries regarding Advani’s health, sharing his thoughts on social media. He wrote, “Deeply concerned to learn of the hospitalisation of our revered statesman, senior BJP leader and former Deputy Prime Minister, Shri Lal Krishna Advani Ji, due to a chest infection. May Mahaprabhu Shri Jagannath bestow upon him strength, resilience, and swift recovery, so that he may continue to inspire the nation with his wisdom and guidance.”

Recognized as a prominent leader within the BJP, Advani has held numerous important roles throughout his extensive political career, including that of Deputy Prime Minister.

Nadda’s visit highlights the concern among party members regarding Advani’s well-being.

As the 98-year-old leader continues to receive treatment, his supporters remain hopeful for his recovery, with his stable condition providing some reassurance amid the worries about his health.
