Bhubaneswar: In preparation for the Monsoon Session of the Odisha Assembly, commencing on September 22, the Odisha Police will establish a comprehensive three-layer security system, as announced by DGP-in-charge Vinaytosh Mishra on Sunday.

Significant security measures have been put in place around the Assembly, which include route barricading, management of vehicle traffic, and the strategic deployment of personnel. Mishra emphasized that only individuals with valid passes will be permitted entry into the Assembly area. The security framework will encompass both the outer and inner perimeters, with vehicle access in the outer perimeter being closely regulated.

Approximately 30 platoons of police forces will be stationed at various locations both within and surrounding the Assembly grounds. Additionally, security personnel will be positioned on the rooftops of the Assembly and adjacent structures to ensure ongoing surveillance.

As part of the security strategy, spotters will also be deployed. Daily inspections of the entire Assembly facility by bomb squads and anti-sabotage teams will be conducted throughout the session to identify and avert any potential security threats.

“We will make every effort to ensure that the session proceeds smoothly,” Mishra stated.

The seventh session of the 17th Odisha Legislative Assembly is set to run from September 22 until October 3. Senior police officials, including Commissioner of Police for Bhubaneswar-Cuttack, Dr. Suresh Dev Datta Singh, along with Additional Police Commissioner Narsingha Bhol, participated in the discussions surrounding the security protocols.

The meeting addressed security logistics inside and around the Assembly, traffic management, and the procedures for VVIP movement throughout the session.
