Bhubaneswar: In a recent update regarding the Balianta brutal murder case, the Odisha Crime Branch, which is investigating the serious crime, has reportedly filed a request to take 11 arrested suspects on remand.
According to reports, the investigative agency has approached the JMFC court in Bhubaneswar to obtain remand for the 11 suspects, who were initially arrested by the Commissionerate Police before the Crime Branch assumed control of the case.
Sources indicate that the Crime Branch is seeking a five-day remand to interrogate the suspects and gather additional information about the brutal incident.
It is important to note that the Crime Branch has not yet interrogated these 11 suspects, who have been held at Jharpada Jail since their arrest.
If the court grants permission, the suspects will be remanded from jail; otherwise, the Crime Branch team may conduct their interrogation within the jail premises, sources added.
