BHUBANESWAR: Ajit Kumar Shasany, the Director of the CSIR-National Botanical Research Institute in Lucknow, has been appointed as the vice-chancellor of the Central University of Odisha (CUO), Koraput.
The appointment was made by President Droupadi Murmu.
According to the official communication from the Ministry of Education, Shasany will serve a term of five years.
In addition to his role at the National Botanical Research Institute, he has previously held positions as the director of the ICAR-National Institute for Plant Biotechnology in New Delhi and as chief scientist in the Biotechnology Division at the CSIR-Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants in Lucknow.
