Kendrapada: The lifeless body of a college student, who vanished on Thursday night, was discovered in an abandoned pond located in the Mahakalapada region of Odisha’s Kendrapada district on Saturday.
Initial reports indicate that her body was located approximately 200 meters from her residence, close to Jadupur village, under the jurisdiction of the Marsaghai police station.
The young woman had not been seen since 10 PM on Thursday and was a final-year Plus III student at Marsaghai College.
Preliminary investigations revealed a significant cut on her neck, prompting suspicions of foul play. Additionally, bloodstains were found at four separate sites near her home, and a knife was retrieved from the scene.
Upon notification, a Marsaghai police team quickly arrived at the location and initiated an investigation with help from a scientific team. Initial evidence suggests a possible murder linked to a one-sided romantic interest. However, the precise details and motives behind the alleged homicide remain unclear.
Authorities are currently analyzing the blood evidence, the suspected weapon, and other clues to reconstruct the events leading to the student’s death. Further inquiries are ongoing to determine the circumstances and identify any individuals involved.
