Puri: A snake catcher lost his life after a cobra bite while filming a reel and taking photos with the dangerous snake at his residence in Puri district, Odisha.

The victim, Tapan Kumar Pradhan, was from Kanthapur village and was well-known for his expertise in capturing venomous snakes. His videos featuring snake interactions had gained significant popularity on social media.

On Friday afternoon, Tapan was filming on the veranda of his home when he was bitten by the cobra on his fingers, elbow, and upper arm. Following the incident, he was quickly taken to a local hospital in Puri, but medical staff pronounced him dead upon his arrival.

The police have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate event. Tapan was particularly active on Instagram, where he regularly shared videos and reels showcasing his encounters with snakes.
