Bhubaneswar: On Thursday, the southwest monsoon started its retreat from Odisha, as reported by the IMD, impacting parts of six districts.
The withdrawal has largely occurred in Baragada and partially in Sundaragada, Jharsuguda, Balangir, Nuapada, and Nabarangpur districts. Currently, the line marking the monsoon’s withdrawal extends through Supaul, Ranchi, Sundaragada, Baragada, Bijapur, Hyderabad, Belagavi, and Panjim, according to an IMD bulletin.
The weather office indicated that conditions are becoming conducive for the monsoon to further withdraw from additional areas in Odisha over the next three to four days. The southwest monsoon made its entry into the state on June 12, successfully reaching all 30 districts by June 23.
