Chief Minister Majhi Heads to Delhi for Key Mahanadi Water Dispute Meeting

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi departed for New Delhi on Thursday morning to participate in a significant meeting concerning the protracted Mahanadi water dispute.

According to reports, the meeting will be led by Union Home Minister Amit Shah today in the national capital. The gathering will also include Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Union Minister of Jal Shakti, C. R. Patil, along with the chief secretaries and technical committee members from both states.

This meeting is regarded as a pivotal move toward resolving the long-standing water-sharing conflict between Odisha and Chhattisgarh.

Prior to his departure, Chhattisgarh CM Sai conveyed his optimism, remarking that with the BJP governing in both states and at the national level, he believes any decisions made during the meeting will be mutually acceptable. CM Majhi had previously indicated hope that a resolution could be reached before Diwali.
