Bengaluru’s police forces from Girinagar, Hebbal, and Vidyaranyapura conducted a joint operation that led to the arrest of six individuals, including foreign nationals, and the seizure of drugs worth ₹10.96 crore, as announced by Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh on Tuesday.

The operation resulted in the recovery of 5.480 kg of MDMA from the arrested individuals, who hail from Karnataka and other states, as well as foreign nationals. They are accused of sourcing narcotics at lower prices from other regions and selling them at inflated rates to the public and college students.

In one notable operation, the Girinagar police apprehended Jaffer, 35, from Kasaragod, Kerala; Ashiq, 32, from Devarachikkanahalli; and 26-year-old Nigerian national Josiah Abel. This group was found in possession of 4.320 kg of MDMA, which carries an estimated value of ₹4.32 crore.

Additionally, the Hebbal police arrested Banita Karan, 35, originally from Odisha but residing in Tavarekere, and seized 1.054 kg of MDMA, valued at approximately ₹2 crore.

Furthermore, the Vidyaranyapura police seized another 106 grams of MDMA, worth around ₹10.60 lakh, in a separate operation.

All six suspects have been brought before a court, where they were placed in judicial custody. The police are ramping up efforts to track down additional individuals believed to be involved in the drug supply network.
