Jajpur/Bhadrak: Due to the current flooding and waterlogging crisis, officials in Odisha’s Jajpur and Bhadrak districts have announced the temporary closure of schools in the impacted regions on Monday.

In Jajpur, the District Education Officer (DEO) has mandated that 91 educational institutions, which include government-run, aided, and private schools, will not hold classes on Monday. However, other schools within the district will continue their regular operations.

Schools that are closed for classes will remain open for possible use in rescue and rehabilitation efforts as necessary, according to an announcement from the district Collector.

Meanwhile, in Bhadrak, the local administration has decided to suspend classes in 341 schools across six blocks today in response to the ongoing flood situation. The affected blocks include Dhamnagar, Bhadrak, Bhandaripokhari, Tihidi, Basudevpur, and Chandbali.

Authorities have also urged students, parents, and staff to prioritize safety and stay updated with official communications. The decision regarding the reopening of schools will be contingent on the status of the flooding and waterlogging.
