Bhubaneswar: Prasanna Kumar Acharya, an Odisha native, has officially stepped into the role of Chairman-cum-Managing Director of NLC India Ltd. (NLCIL). He previously served as the Director (Finance) for the company.

Acharya assumed his new responsibilities at the NLC India Limited corporate office located in Neyveli, Tamil Nadu, on Thursday, according to sources.

With nearly thirty years of extensive experience, Acharya has held significant positions in several prestigious organizations across the power, mining, and infrastructure industries.

His career includes key roles at GRIDCO, NTPC, and Tata Power, where he made notable contributions to major projects, such as the Phase – II initiative of Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL).

Acharya, who comes from the Kendrapada district of Odisha, possesses a Graduate and PhD in Commerce from Utkal University. Additionally, he holds a law degree, a postgraduate degree in Commerce, and a postgraduate degree in Business Administration. He is also a Fellow Member of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of India and an Associate Member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India.

During his time at NLC India Limited, Acharya has spearheaded various crucial initiatives, including digital transformation, modernization of enterprise resource planning systems, the implementation of artificial intelligence-based systems, and financial reforms.
